Match Fishing Wales

Welcome

Launch day 13th June 2005. It has taken a long time but we finally have this site up and live. There is still quite a lot of work to do to get this site content and information available. This is where you can help, if you have of if you fish a match venue please submit a report to us, This way we can collate all the useful information to keep the match angler informed and up to date. If you are a club or venue owner you can also submit reports. The whole concept of match fishing wales is to gather as much information about all match venues in the UK and not only wales. If you have any match results please also submit these however old they may be, this information will be used to analyse match venues an provide a comprehensive match report to all of our members. Not yet a member please join, It's free and will only take a minute to complete. This site is not only for welsh match venue's please submit results and reports for any match venue. This information may be of value to another member who may have a match booked there. The aim of this site is to share knowledge, tactics and tips on the match venues we all fish. There will be in the future some matches organised and sponsored by this site. We hope to produce a monthly news letter which will be delivered by email to all members..

Why This Site

I have been match fishing since 1981 and I had always wanted to find a way to easily access details, match reports and results on the forthcoming venues I had booked into. Information like 'Hot Pegs' (Flyers), main species to go for, best rigs and baits, feeding methods, etc. Now quite a lot of this information is held in my memory, but I'm sure like a lot of other match anglers we forget some of this, especially for venues we do not fish on a regular basis. Therefore i came up with the idea for this web site. If we all put down our thoughts, methods and generally how we would approach certain venues, and how they may change for different times of the year etc, this can only be of benefit to other like minded match anglers. Add to that the match results which will be a wealth of information on each venue. I hope this becomes a success, it will all depend on the members providing the information. Hopefully some of the fisheries owners will participate and post their results here too. There are no plans to charge any form of membership I intend to provide this information free to anyone and everyone who would like to access it.
